Barack Obama - Charles Gibson ABC World News Latest Interview 10-29-08

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Charles Gibson interviews Barack Obama on ABC World News Tonight. The discussion ranges from bipartisanship to tax plan.

Below are some of the statements made by Obama during the interview:

“If ppl are doing very well, there is nothing wrong in giving tax relief to 95% of Americans who’ve been struggling even as the economy was growing. That basic principle is as American as apple pie”

“The biggest promoter of progressive income tax was McCain’s hero: Teddy Roosevelt”

“The charge of socialism and class warfare is an insult and is part of an old argument that doesn’t apply anymore. We need to grow our economy and expand the pie”

“National security needs to return to the tradition of non-partisan. We have politicized our foreign policy in a way that has done us great damage. I want to return to a tradition that says our difference is end at the water’s edge”

Comments welcomed as are civil, thought-provoking debates.

Obama ad mocks McCain POW injuries — (9.15.08) — FOX News’ Bill Hemmer takes Obama spokesman Bill Burton to task over disgraceful Obama campaign ad

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

(Sept 15, 2008) - FOX News anchor Bill Hemmer sets the record straight with duplicitous Obama spokesman Bill Burton.

A recent ad by Obama named “Still” mocks John McCain’s injuries that the war hero suffered as a result of being tortured by the North Vietnamese during McCain’s stay in the Hanoi Hilton.

Because of the damage the torture did to his body, McCain has difficulty typing and performing certain physical tasks, including using a computer.

This reality did not stop the low-roading Obama campaign from attacking McCain for his infirmities that the Arizona senator suffered as a result of selflessly serving his country.

Team Obama: Negative, disrespectful and dishonorable towards a real American hero, John McCain.

Here are 4 articles detailing the controversy over the Obama Team commercial making fun of John McCain’s war wounds:

McCain accepts improper donations from Rothschilds!

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Daniel Nasaw in Washington guardian.co.uk, Tuesday April 29 2008
A US campaign watchdog has accused presumptive Republican president nominee John McCain of violating election laws by accepting campaign contributions from two prominent Londoners.

At issue is a fundraising luncheon held in March at London’s Spencer House, during McCain’s swing through the United Kingdom. An invitation to the event lists Lord Rothschild and Nathaniel Rothschild as hosts, and indicates the event was made possible with their “kind permission”.

Judicial Watch, a Washington organisation instrumental in the March release of Hillary Clinton’s White House schedules, has asked US election monitors to investigate whether the Rothschilds improperly sponsored the fundraiser. US political campaigns are forbidden from accepting contributions from foreign nationals.

“The question is whether or not the Rothschilds paid for the event, the venue, the catering, or any other related costs,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.

Tickets to the event cost ,000 to ,300, and the luncheon dress code was “lounge suits,” the Washington Post reported in March.

The McCain campaign did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Judicial Watch also complained to the US election authority, the federal election commission, about Elton John’s involvement in Clinton’s campaign. The group alleged the British rocker broke US campaign laws by performing at a fundraiser for the New York senator. The Clinton campaign argued US law allowed the British musician to volunteer his time and solicit Americans for contributions.

The federal election commission is unlikely to act soon on the group’s McCain complaint. It is currently short-handed, a result of a political squabble between the Democratic-led senate and the Bush administration, and lacks a quorum to take action.

French TV archive releases McCain POW video New Video released of POW- John McCain Prisoner of War

PARIS - A French national archive has posted online extended footage of Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain being interviewed as a bedridden prisoner during the Vietnam War.

French reporter Francois Chalais conducted the interview. His widow says th More..e online release this week of 4 minutes, 33 seconds of footage is the fullest distribution of the interview since it first aired four decades ago.

The video shows McCain shirtless and unshaven, smoking a cigarette. Answering questions from Chalais, he spoke about being shot down over Hanoi on Oct. 25, 1967, and parachuting into a lake.

At times, when speaking of his family, McCain’s lower lip trembles and his voice breaks.

“I was on a flight over the city (Hanoi) … and I was bombing and I was hit by a missile or anti-aircraft fire, I’m not sure which,” he said, adding that his plane “went straight down.”

After landing in the lake, McCain said he “was picked up and taken to the hospital, where I almost died.”

In the interview, McCain said he was treated well by his Vietnamese captors. Asked about the food, he told his French interviewer, “It’s not like Paris … (but) I eat it.”

The exact date of the interview is not clear, but it appeared to be taken in late 1967.

The French national audiovisual archive INA is posting the interview on its Web site, http://www.ina.fr, for one week. It was first broadcast on French television program Panorama in January 1968.
Mei Chen Chalais, the reporter’s 56-year-old widow who holds the legal rights to the footage, told The Associated Press that some excerpts of the black-and-white footage are widely available — mostly unauthorized — in cyberspace, and have been used by television networks in France and the United States.
Her lawyers are seeking payment from at least seven broadcasters in France and the United States that used the footage without authorization, said one of her attorneys, Jacques-Georges Bitoun on Wednesday.

Even McCain’s campaign Web site features a few seconds of the footage, which Chalais said was done without her approval. Chalais’ lawyers have sent a letter on the rights issue to McCain’s campaign team. new con jewish jew musulman arabe algeria egypt golf dubai washington france canada japan world srkozy paris hilton maroc tunisie saudi arabia koweit jordan palestine wafa sultan politic music musique saddam hussein war arabic 11 september tel aviv al quds hamas hizallah iran president michigan morroca tunisa god cairo macca jerusalem news cnn fox sky bbc china ebgland london uk gb scotland germany australia china russia qatar al jazeera west east jerusalem pentagon congress senator amman oman emirate bahrain sudan libya syria lebanon yemen rasd if1 canal plus entv al jazeera cnn fox newa bbc itv sky nbc cbs sahara
