Yesterday 5-4-07, was THE experience of a lifetime! Christmas came early in 2007, that’s for sure! Here’s the story. After seeing PS22’s 5th grade chorus Tori-cover videos sent to Amos’ P.R. peeps by Undented.com, Sony contacted us and invited us to sing for and with Tori!!
Here’s Pt. 1. The kids sang Dragon and……. THEY BROUGHT TORI TO TEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UPDATE: This video has gone on to become one of the most viewed Tori Amos videos on YouTube, and garnered the PS22 Chorus much attention, including write-ups in USA Today, The New York Daily News, the VH1 blog, and probably most notably on the Perez Hilton blog. Perez, the ultra-hilarious gossip blogger turned TV personality, is featuring Tori Amos in his upcoming VH1 DIVAS special that includes (among others) Gloria Estefan, Pink, Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, and Chaka Khan!

All I have to say is that I am not someone who is easily moved and these kids really moved me. I loved them singing Dragon (I have to admit that though I own American Doll Posse, I only know one song and didn’t even know Dragon was on it). What you’re doing with these kids is amazing. And again, I consider myself to be a very tough person but seeing what you do, it really moved me. Keep up the good work both, what you guys do is really great.

Aww, just listen to Tori they say, “Dragon,” and she is shocked and says,”they like Dragon.”
Dragon is an epic song though, and I was so thrown back that the kids like it, and it is a true blessing to their lives. I only wonder how intellectual I’d be today if I was introduced to an Artist li Tori when I was younger. And I was craving for something more cleansing and healing, and good their listening to age appropriate version. Although, I don’t think an edited version of Dragon is needed.

She must feel incomprehensible happiness. The whole concept and framework of American Doll Posse was to access a large demographic, not in a stereotypical commercial sense. The writing in this music enables access to a person on a human level “can you feel now what I’m talkin’ about”, and a component of that is she inspiring younger generations , Ruby. I would usually find it odd kids this young would like it. It affirms the healing qualities of Tori’s work; I am inspired hearing them sing it.
