In this mornings edition of The Daily Telegraph in the United Kingdom (UK) it was reported in one year there were near one million violent crimes committed in the UK across the pond. The UK being a nation with strong gun control laws where many gleefully point across the pond to the USA. Berating the USA for too many guns and the resulting violence from such arms. It seems the people in the United Kingdom are rather accomplish at committing violent crimes with a blade rather than a bullet.

The UKs population of around 60 million would put their violent crime rate at around 1.47%. In the USA with a population of around 300 million and 1, 400,337 violent crimes in 2007 would put violent crimes in the USA at .47%, less than that of the UK. So now which society is more violent? The society armed with guns or the one armed with knives?

Do people like Russell Brand, John Cleese or Sea Shepherd types won guns or knives?

I’m an ignorant redneck because I’m telling you your probably gonna get shot because your an arrogant fool that does not know when to shut his mouth?
I dunno how I could be a redneck though since you have to be white to be a redneck and I’m not white.
But then again intelligent people such as yourself know better and know for a fact that everyone in America is a white anglo saxon that owns guns, sleeps with our sister and hate Jews right?
Didn’t expect that to backfire on you did you? lol fail

  2. WhyDidYouGoAndDoThat Says:

you have proved my opinion of you. That is you are nothing but an ignorant, insular redneck. No, I am not afraid of being shot because I live in Australia.

  3. LeeroyFan101 Says:

Yeah its legal to acquire high caliber weapons but intensive background checks will be done on you plus they are pretty damn expensive so unless your with the mafia the rabble of the country that do most of the killing are very unlikely to get them.

  4. LeeroyFan101 Says:

what point that most murders have a motive? OMG we did not know that!? lol did your run out of valid arguments already?

  5. Kuisel88 Says:

I was refering mainly to hunting rifles and/or hunting ammunition, but yes like you say most are handgun murders, but if I recall correctly in some states it is legal to hunt with handgun calibers. I keep a lot of knives hidden and a bayonet for a nasty surprise for intruders as all I got is a rifle, which I would personally like to test the AP capabilities of with factory hunting ammo cause I have yet to recover a bullet.

But gun laws are mainly based on fears of city folk and a few others.

  6. WhyDidYouGoAndDoThat Says:

Keep going…you are just proving my point…

  7. LeeroyFan101 Says:

Why? lol its true your arrogant and people don’t like you so if you do get murdered it won;t be because of guns its gonna be because someone just really hated your guts.

Why did I hurt your poor little feelings? Are you afraid now that someone is gonna shoot you? LOL well with a mouth like yours I’d be afraid too.

  8. WhyDidYouGoAndDoThat Says:

    Leeroy:

“Actually you have 7 times more of a chance to get killed here since your arrogant and people just don’t like you.”

    Nice.

    You just lost all credibility.

  9. BlackpeopleLOL Says:

No fuckwit-Brit is going to listen to this. Most people here are too fucking dense. They’ll just keep blaming “America” and “Bush” for everything, as our nation flushes down the toilet in a sick orgy of violent crime.

  10. USAGymnast Says:

Most murders in the US also occur between gangs and in the cities.

  11. LeeroyFan101 Says:

Actually if you think about the military does use the principle of the knife such as bombs, artillery, and high caliber ammunition. Since those operate on the principle of decapitation and inflicting large wounds on the body rather than penetration like lower caliber ammunition does.
We limit those to only military use though and you have to get a special license to get access to those kinds of weapons. Most murders in the US are from pistols or lower caliber weapons.

  12. USAGymnast Says:

The schools tend to be gun free zones but apparently the shooters don’t care about that rule.

There was a university shooting in 2002 at Appalachian Law School in VA where it wasn’t a gun free zone and a person with a concealed carry weapons permit was able to stop the shooter until police got there.

  13. USAGymnast Says:

Also depends on the skill of the shooter.

  14. Nozokimidayo Says:

Fair point. One question for you though, what about shootings in schools? School students who walk into their schools and randomly shoot down teachers and students? How many incidents like that have there been in America just this year.. I know of 7 incidents just this year with 14 students killed. Last year 35 students were killed. and in 2006 11 killed. School students.. isn’t that a bit alarming? In Australia where there are strict gun laws we have had one incident back in 2002..2 killed. :)

  15. USAGymnast Says:

People also use guns for hunting animals for food, which is ok with God.

  16. USAGymnast Says:

The enemies of the US military also have guns and other weapons such as suicide bombs, etc.

  17. Kuisel88 Says:

Depends on the type of firearm and the ammunition being used. Hollowpoints are nasty. But I’ll take the gun over the knife most any day. Rather be shot like a man than stuck like a pig.

  18. LeeroyFan101 Says:

Did you read what I said or start shooting your mouth off? I said if you survived you tool. Maybe you should use common sense what do you think you have a higher chance of surviving having a half an inch hole in you with less bleeding or having a 5 in hole in you with heavy bleeding?
Actually you have 7 times more of a chance to get killed here since your arrogant and people just don’t like you.

  19. asherswife Says:

Amen Brother you preach it !!!!

  20. WhyDidYouGoAndDoThat Says:

well then Leeroy, maybe if the US army should do away with guns and just use knives if they are so much more deadlier. Please try and use some commonsense. I am 7 times more likely to get murdered in your country than mine. That is a direct result of guns being too easy to obtain.

  21. USAGymnast Says:

It’s very hard for someone with a gun to shoot someone from a far away range unless the shooter is very skilled.

  22. Causa10bserver Says:

To TheBritishWatcher: Did you mistype your statistics or flub the math? According to the statistics you posted a person is three times more likely to be killed in the UK, not the US.

  23. LeeroyFan101 Says:

Actually after the initial stab you won’t be able to get away. If you haven’t noticed a knife is freaking huge and will rip your guts open so you will still eventually die most likely from blood loss. If you get shot and survive your still pretty much operational since a bullet is rather small and kills by disabling organs due to its ability to penetrate.
So your not gonna get far if you have been stabbed. Maybe a few yards but your killer can run too and is uninjured and will probably catch you

  24. TheBritishWatcher Says:

Id rather take my chances and get away from someone with a knife than die getting shot by someone holding a gun :)

  25. LeeroyFan101 Says:

Well I’d personally get shot and die right away than be stabbed or beaten to death thank you very much.
